Bottom left.....min .80 max 1.30 But shells look good on the eggs collected so far.

I’m going to compare to layer crumbles from RK after I get back and see if higher calcium and maybe put out some of both.

The last quail I released were my black ones!!! I will try to take a few pictures tomorrow. They are soooooo cute!!! I think they are the smallest in the aviary

My hatch is done. 10 out of 12 button quail hatched. One never pipped and the other died while pipping. It went better than I expected.

Thank you! I am amazed too. I have no experience with buttons, so I had no idea about hatch rates. Looks like I was lucky to have so many.

Candled this morning, day 8 of incubation. 16 of 30 clear/infertile. 14 of 30 fertile. As suspected about 50% on shipped eggs. Was not at all happy with the packing, thought the viability might be worse!

All 14 showed excellent veining.

Of the 20 button eggs that I set, I dropped one, the other 18 are fertile and developing nicely. They went into lockdown today.

Everyone is eating and drinking fine and they all look different, really easy to tell them apart. I don't know anything about button quail colors, so I am excited to see how they turn out.
