➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Thanks. I'll stop stressing over 100.3 then. 😄
A few minutes of 103°F will not kill but it doesn't take very long to kill at 105°F. It does make a difference whether it is still air or forced air. High temps in a forced air incubator will kill quicker than in a still air because the air is stratified in a still air and hot and cold areas are much more common than in a forced air incubator.

oooh oh ok ill try do it now....wait how do you know if there is an internal pip?
Ack i might just give it over night and i ll keep recording them to see any movement..and then ill candle them in the morning..its already past midnight here 😅 i rlly dont wanna spoil their (however slight) chance of hatching by lowering humidity and temperature by opening the lid to the incubator...

Is anyone raising Bob whites?
Most states make an exception for Coturnix quail allowing people them to raise them without a permit. Bobwhites on the other hand are considered a game bird by most states and require a permit to keep. This is why most people keep Coturnix quail.

Thanks. These are my current readings on the Govee in the center of the bator (the hottest part). It's only bumped 100.3 briefly a few times and my averages are where I want them. So I think I'm safe. Unless my bator has a serious malfunction I can't see I'll come anywhere close to 103°.

Why are you running your humidity so low? 35%~40%

I'm trying the dry hatch. There are so many opinions on humidity I don't know what's best. This is what I chose to do first.
I gave 15 eggs to my ex wife to hatch and she is running her humidity between 35-40%. We'll compare results afterwards.

Personally I like 35-40 for quail. Which is still pretty much a dry hatch. Go luck to you!!
