I set 76 eggs today. My turner already cracked one of them. You can see how some of the eggs got pushed out of the turner. I really don't like this incubator.

I've also separated out all of the roos from my Easter hatch. I had 14 celadons. 9 of them are boys. 4 are hens, and one is a recovering sick bird that I'm not sure on gender yet.
These are the girls. I brought them inside temporarily since I don't want to combine the two batches of boys that I have. I'm going to be processing over 20 boys this weekend. Then these girls can go back outside.

I could be wrong but I think it’s a small jar of water with foil over part of the top, so she can regulate the humidity more carefully.

I kinda thought that's what it is but also thought maybe an ultrasonic humidifier!

That's water. The foil keeps the humidity around 30%. If I use the channels in the incubator, the humidity gets way too high, so I use that instead.

Candled my eggs last night and still have lots of babies cooking! The Celadon eggs don’t look like they have as many that are going to make it, but I’ve actually had a tougher time candling the blue eggs than the Pansy Fee eggs oddly enough! Out of 12 Celadon eggs I have 5 still developing and 2 I’m thinking are quitters but can’t tell yet so I am keeping them going. And still have 9 very definitely still growing Pansy Fees out of 12. Hoping I get at least 4 Celadons cuz odds are that at least two or three will be roosters. This is the first time I have been able to candle and see them moving inside, super cool!

The celadon eggs can be hard to see into. I hope you have more than 5 developing and you just can't see into them.

Yeah, I thought sure they would be easier but I was wrong haha. I’m hopeful that my cheapie candler is to blame. I still have 10 going so I am staying positive! I could see tons of veins in the Pansy ones, was neat to see all that detail up close!

UPDATE:
Those eggs I thought were infertile, (I didn't candle them) hatched! 2 days late. Increased my hatch rate to 92% for HG bob's!
obviously a 'coldspot' in the bator, right underneath the heater and fan.

Quail will have a variety and will not breed true. We just select for the large ones, but the small ones come out of the gene pool too. Like white tigers and the like.

Hmm, ok. I’ve tried putting them with the larger birds in the pen outside, but they seem stressed and either hide or race around (which inspires the other birds to chase them). Do I just stick them in the big kid pen and let them sort it out? I’m tired of them being in my office, and I’m going to have to buy more of the crappy bedding I’ve been using for their indoor pen if I don’t kick them out today.
