Quail getting into position to break out of the egg
My HG chicks with Grandma.

I moved my ā€œuncollected eggā€ chicks to the shed yesterday so I could use the little cage to transport the last finch to grandmas house. One is Rosetta and the other is Pansy Fee. They were playing leap frog and having a good ole time this morning with all the extra space!!!!

I just sent my anti-social hen on vacation. She's in a modified battery cage on the ground all by herself.

It's not quail jail. She doesn't like the other birds so she needed a staycation to find bugs and relax on her own.
I love staycation alone time šŸ˜†

I managed to get all nine chicks to stand still for a few seconds. 😁 They are two weeks old now and all happy and healthy. Mom really did an outstanding job by hatching and raising so many babies. I am proud of her. ā¤ļø

I found a Little Giant with the fan added and it appears to have the turners that aren’t laying the eggs horizontal. It’s $10 cheaper than the NR360…you think that it would do a good job? This might be a silly question, but how do the eggs get turned when they’re in the little cups? šŸ™ƒ
My turner tilts them each direction.
Tilts to the right to about 2 o'clock and then tilts to the left to about 10 o'clock.

Okay, they’re 4 weeks old…any guesses? @Nabiki 😁 If I were to guess, I would guess A is a hen and B is a roo…neither has very pronounced chest patterns which I thought Zach said meant they might be males…but one head seems more seamless to the back feathers than the other…so that’s why I guessed the way I did. Thoughts from others? 😁😁

Looking at the pictures, I'm actually guessing that both are hens. I'm still not perfect at guessing, but I've circled the crescent pattern on the cheeks that usually means "hen" to me.

Here is a picture of a hen and a roo. The hen is circled in red, the roo in blue.
