➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Looking at the pictures, I'm actually guessing that both are hens. I'm still not perfect at guessing, but I've circled the crescent pattern on the cheeks that usually means "hen" to me.

Well that would be super fantastic :-D they’re very nice birds, once they calm down from all the flapping around haha. I’m thinking they’re almost ready to integrate with the hen den…gonna give them a couple more weeks of growth since the two boys are very “active” 🙄 even my gentlemen Silvie can be a bit annoying on occasion haha. He’s such a calm and sweet male. Not nearly as annoying as all my other boys!

Moved the chicks outside today. They will probably hide under here the first few days.

That's not the only feeder, but it's the closest one to the hiding spot

Well, my Snowflake Bob's (shipped eggs) started hatching today! 3 of 14 so far. I'm not expecting much....these were the eggs USPS screwed up in the shipment. Spent the weekend either on the truck or at the PO, and I don't know whether or not they were inside the PO or on the outside dock! The box was at 93°F when I opened it, checked with an IR thermometer. Every egg was severely saddled, rough shipment and they were packed in foam.

I’m glad you at least got 3 so far, it seems like a miracle.

Those are some hardy babies!! Hopefully you get lucky and get a few more :)

Got home this morning, I have 3 more Snowflakes! 6 of 14 set. :( but really didn't expect any to hatch. That's the good part of this post. The bad part is yesterday, when I got home some of the Mexican Speckeled and Northern Bob's were missing from their pen?
Found the culprit this morning when I went to check on them.....5 foot Bullsnake! It won't be having anymore quail for dinner.;)
