Ok so today is lockdown day.
Should I be candling/checking how many are developed while I change everything over? Any tips for that?

Should I be worried about how much time they are out of the incubator while I put the shelf liner in?

I usually do a quick candle when putting them into lockdown. They'll be fine for a few minutes without heat. It takes a while for the internal temperature to drop. I try to get them switched over within 5 minutes, though. That means with large batches I candle some of the eggs.

My black Coturnix eggs arrived today! Almost double the amount extra for free! If anybody is looking for quail, and apparently chickens, which I saw in his past auctions, Garrie Landry is great. He has a site called zebrafinch.com and I bought my buttons from him thru there, and had such a good experience, I ordered more. On eBay he’s Cajunboy, and I encourage anyone looking for small groups of hatching eggs to check out his site and eBay auctions.

Here are the eggs, packed super well, none cracked from what I see, but I’ll candle before I set them. The box was in a larger box, and having shipped eggs myself, I honestly feel he lost money on the shipping cost and packaging.

Worked perfectly! But I read about the hal and did the math lol and mine will be on the 3rd Too late.
