All incubators well most all... Are not going to have the exact same temperature in every single spot.
I don't know your incubator first hand so don't quite understand exactly how it works.
I'm pretty sure that anyone can get any incubator to work perfectly for them in their situation if they just put the time into learning it.

Oh yeah for sure. If there is a lot of temp variability I may just try a different incubator. I'm not sure how I would set the eggs to avoid those spots since they all spin around.

I use one of the most hated incubators and I have had multiple 100% hatch rates.
So I know we can be done firsthand.

Day 7 I believe. I usually wait until day 9. Since these came in the mail, and the mail workers are pretty overworked this time of year, I’m worried about how they’ll go. When I looked at them after they arrived, I didn’t see any cracks, but when I candled again after dark, there were 3 all near each other that had tiny cracks, so I think it’s possible the box took a heavy fall. It’s not the end of the world if they don’t have a great hatch rate, I can always get a reship after Christmas if it’s really terrible. I’m just excited about these.

Curled toes can often be fixed with "shoes". The quality of this pic is terrible, I know, but you can see how I used card stock and painter's tape on this one.

Looks like your humidity might be low
Chicks still in shell with the zip that dry is not the greatest thing.

It could be either too low or too high. Curled toes are usually when the humidity is too high. Getting stuck in the shell could be either.

I would associate curled toes with being stuck in the shell way beyond when it should have hatched. Stuck in the shell from being to big would indicate to high humidity during incubation. I think if the chick is able to move around inside enough to zip but not pop out would lean towards humidity to low during hatch period. You agree Bee bee ?

The one with the curled toes also pipped/hatched from the pointy end, I didn't take note of where the air bubble was because at the time I didn't know what I was looking at (now I've learned hehe)

I did have one that got stuck to the membrane also which I had to assist a bit near the end, who is now doing just fine.

So it's sounding like humidity may have been off since I had at least a couple 'sticking' and possibly the one that hatched while I was at work too, since my husband said it seemed like it was stuck. But too high or too low?
What humidities do you all use for incubating and then lockdown?

I usually have mine around 50% humidity for hatching.
