@RUNuts Are you ok?
I've been wondering If you had to evacuate for Thanksgiving.
Yes, we evacuated for In-laws family reunion and feast. Returned to our sanctuary to recover and the kids came home. I've been slaving in a hot kitchen to satisfy their insatiable appetites. Gumbo and homemade bread. A pot used to last a week. Now, 2 days?

BTW - the rooster is delicious! Homegrown tastiness at its bestest.

Good food with family!

Quail are down to 2 eggs a day with no light. The harvest last week was overwhelming. I shall butcher in smaller number as needed. :old

Chicken eggs go to lock down Monday. :fl 6 hopefuls out of 25 eggs. Shipping was rough.

Ive come to the conclusion that I probably am not going to get eggs this year from my quail so I guess I’m waiting till February
What do you feed them?
Also... How many males do you have and how many females?

Right now they’re on gamebird ration and I’m not sure how many of each I have but I’m sure I have more males than females but I did just cull out 8 males
Having too many males might be the problem.

Need input. Are the left and back quail both male? This is set 1 and I've checked after the first male had injuries. Looks like I've had 2 boys the whole time. :hmm

I thought I had a cockroach eating the quail food. Then this was in the bottom of my 5 gallon bucket. Time to set traps. I'm not happy with this. Warning to everyone that rodents are an issue around pet food. Climbing into the coop is a new one for me.
