➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Since there are a bunch of you here, I need advice on a bunny emergency. My dog was very excited and I went to see what was up. She had a bunny in the grass. It was alive. I have no idea if she played with it or anything, no blood, it can move, not well, but this could just be because it's sooo little. We decided to wait a few hours and see if it was ok or not or strong enough to be on its own or not or if a mama came back or not. I got to thinking, rabbits don't just have one bunny. Well, found the nest a few feet away and there are at least 4 of them, maybe more, all alive and little and weak. The mama may very well be dead (gardening neighbor with pellet gun). I typically view rabbits as pests, but they are helpless babies. Had it been just the one the dog had I'd say no way it's gonna survive, may have internal injuries, mama will never find it, and I have to do the mercy kill, but it's a whole nest of babies! What to do???!
Bunnies are hard to save. If your gonna try, keep them warm. They will not eat from a dish. You can try goat milk or kitten milk replacement. Use an eye dropper or syringe. Be careful not to go down the wrong pipe. They also will not go potty without help. Wipe them down with a warm damp cloth.

Be prepared to do everything right, and still loose them.

@Biopilliac just had some bunnies.
I think it is best to leave them be, that said...I'm not so sure I could walk away from a pile of baby bunnies.
I can't not help. Shoot.
:hugs

I forgot to add my decision so far is to leave them for the night. I wanted to put the one back in the nest, my husband said not to touch it. So I am leaving them for the night in hopes that now there are no dogs or cats or people around the mama will come back if she is still alive. I did see an adult rabbit in the area on that side of the house a few times this evening. If the mama does not return, what to do? How old do bunnies need to be to fend for themselves. They really didn't seem to be able to move. I'm not sure if it's because of age or because they have been weak without a mama?

I'm sorry. Not sure exactly what I would do. In sure a lot of people would say leaving them is right, but I don't really think theres a right or wrong here. Do you feel like you can handle and what you feel like you should do. Good luck!

Is there anything I can do to help them where they are? I don't know. Give them a close water source or something? I have no idea :barnie I had a bunny when I was a kid but it was older than this!

Momma bunnies only take care of them a couple times a day, the rest of the time she's off the nest. Newborn bunnies don't move much. Good call on not touching.

Mama will return just to feed them... they will be on their own the rest of the time. Someone else said 'rabbits are minimalist parents', well said.:D

We have a video too, so cute the littles kicking their legs in delight as they nurse.
