It can be a straight metal tube, but the end needs to be smooth enough that you could stick it in your nose and not cause a nose bleed.

Slurry is good, tube works perfectly and is not sharp. I just gave her water a little while ago so I will see how this goes. I will not overfill.

I'm glad you mentioned it! I do know one person that used a tube with sharp edges and ruptured their bird's crop.
