➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

How many hens do you have?
A 50 pound bag last me close to a month with 7 hens.
A 50 pound bag is my daily feed...

I have two beautiful Japanese Bantam Cockerels :)
Unfortunately, they are not show quality due to having long legs

They tend to bulk up as they mature.

Oh no! What was the driver doing? Playing on a phone?
That is what the driver was doing that crossed the highway and plowed into the grade nearly taking out our pipe panel fence during that last rain. Made huge ruts in the ground and stopped just inches from the fence. Stupid woman!

I'm still a few months away from having to turn my heater on. I guess now would be a good time to test it to make sure it still works.
Yes, burn off the dust now while you can open the windows to air out the house. :gig:lau

Okay...while it was rainy and cold this week, I decided to rearrange my 12 X 16 foot sewing/craft room.
I measured all the furniture and made a graph paper floor plan.
Moved everything to the living room, rearranged the furniture and installed three bookshelves (screwed to the studs for strength). I have been folding and sorting all my fabrics to go on the shelves. These fabrics have been in open faced boxes. Still have more to sort.
I set up a central island for my sewing machine, work table and hand quilting station and two storage cabinets.
Sewing notions will be sorted and stowed in the cabinets next.

The bed was on the opposite wall. Still need to put the pillow cases on.

Lots of storage still to fill. The old tv console holds the fabrics for quilt backs and will hold sewing notions and yarn supplies.

Looking from the bed...still have stuff to stow away...

And the Christmas decorations and my soaping supplies will go to the closet.

I bet @Missyblue would have loved to come help you play in that room. I knew she should have gone to visit you when she was there in your state.

My apologies! I’ve had so much going on for school. I cannot tell for certain at this age but keep me updated!
No worries! I have been busy with stuff too, it feels like I'm not online as much right now. I need to find the pictures of the Brahma girls at this age, but I'm not certain I took many in between pictures, I know I have a bunch as little fluff balls. I think I need to set up a picture day each week and take pictures of all the critters to track how they look at different ages.

Lol! Life loves to get in the way of free time. :) I would love to keep track of them as the blue partridges are always fun to watch develop!

These are the babies, I'm really hoping the gray ones turn out to be blue Brahmas. The little partridge on the right is the one that started out with a darker head, the other two had lots of brown on their heads; I think it might be a little boy, or a very bossy girl. It has an upright stance a lot of the time and sometimes seems to challenge me when I reach in to change the water. All of them seem to be about the same height and the combs are starting to show a little more.

Breed them over short-legged girls and you'll get half short-leggeds. Breeding 2 short-leggeds together, you lose so many at hatch anyway.
