➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Ok, so I went and talked to the feed store. They get chicks from Privett Hatchery and Belt Hatchery, and they think they ordered the chicks from Privett. Privett only has Dark, Light, and Buff Brahmas, so I definitely didn't get Brahmas. Their website lists several colors of Cochin, including Blue and Silver Laced, so that is probably what I ended up with.

Now I have to figure out if I want to keep the little stinkers or try to sell them now. Very frustrated that they would order the wrong chicks and say they were right rather than just straight up say they didn't have the breed I wanted.
So frustrating! :hugs They really should have just told you that they didn’t have the breed you wanted instead of going through all this trouble. I would go ahead and list them now to see if anyone is interested.

I wonder if you got someone else's chicks and they haven't figured it out yet

You need a cabinet incubator so that you can set a new batch every week. Then you use your current incubator as a hatcher. You will constantly have quail at all stages of development and growth and a continuous supply of fresh quail to eat.
I need fertile eggs.
The one laid today is not fertile.
I might cry baby if none of these eggs I just set are even fertile.
