➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

BTW, I started exercising again and worked up from walking to running. I'm down almost 40 pounds over the past year and back in single digit clothing sizes for the first time since the twins were born. It's the best feeling ever! My eating habits were pretty good already but I was eating more sugar than I should so I'm being more careful about that. My mom has a lot of health problems for someone her age so that kinda freaked me out enough to motivate me. I don't want to be unable to care for myself in 20 years!
:yesss:

when I grew up there was a small store up the road a couple of miles and another about 3 miles. We would go to the next town for most of the shopping. I got in the habit when grown, to just shop once in a while... even though I went by stores going to work. Now it has built up and there are lots of big stores nearby and I am retired. I started after I retired to shop more often. That first summer I realized I was gaining weight and spending a ton of money. I joined a gym instead of shopping and went back to shopping as little as possible. I figure I saved about $200 a month by not buying garbage I didn't need.. of course now I spend half of that on chickens instead

Yeah, the buying stuff I don’t need is my exact problem. I do that a lot. Whether it’s food or just something cool I see somewhere and think “that looks cool. I think I’ll try that/need it.” I need to just stay away from the stores lol I like your idea of joining a gym. Although with my anxiety I don’t like the idea of exercising where people can see me. I might just start walking. Despite how built up it is in some areas, there are also tons of places to walk around here. I can go for miles just by walking. So I might start doing that.

Get some headphones and start walking to the stores! You can still shop, you get exercise, and you know you have to carry home whatever you buy so you're motivated to not get so much.

Thanks that’s a good idea!! Although, unfortunately, even though it’s a few minutes by car, it’s a rather busy and unsafe road so I don’t know that walking it would be the best idea. There are a couple people that do it but they are poor and/or old with no car and no choice. There is a back way I could go but it is also somewhat dangerous and it is wayyyyy longer. But there are tons of safe quiet roads and trails to walk on all within walking distance, like I can just leave my house and go, so I might start just walking in general and forgo the shopping lol

Wow that is awesome!!! Congrats!!! :woot

I would like to start running myself. But got to get walking more first ha

X2

:lau I am wheezing! :lau

But actually that sounds kinda fun lol I want to learn how to put up fences anyway in case we decide to fence our yard (been debating it a while lol) or if I get any goats and also to fence the garden.

As long as I’m allowed to use the phone sometimes and being fed and not overworked :lau
Phones aren't even allowed to be brought to camp.
Sorry not sorry.

Also, after that boot camp, can I also get an at home boot camp/assistance from you guys?? Cause I have a lot I need to do here too. I also need to clean out my chicken coop and there is a lot of stuff in there and I still need to start seeds and plant my garden and of course fence it and get the cattle panel arches up. Then I need to plant the other grape and get a spot set up to plant the raspberry. And possibly set up the pond which will require a gigantic hole. Although I might just rent a backhoe lol and I still need to buy the filter and pump and other such equipment. And I also need to expand the chicken run (but first I need to buy another kennel for it) and put hardware cloth all around/up it and also set up the brooder for the new chicks. And then I need to build the hutch/hutches for the quailies and get hatching eggs. But that is more of a want. Reading that I am realizing I have a lot to do here too and I am exhausted reading it and kind of didn’t realize I had so much to do here :lau
Throw your phone in the trash for a week or two.

Gross.

"Delicious and warm"
:th

How many are you buying?
Isn't that term nasty? Fresh from the incubator. I am NOT driving all the way to Kent for Balut. Sorry. I am, however, driving to Seabeck for 8 Welsh Harlequin hens and 3 drakes. Not even a year old. This way, I won't have to deal with the ducklings and their filthiness. One drake is going to a friend who needs some fresh blood in her flock, and the other two are going to be butchered and eaten.

The call duck is sitting on 10 eggs, so I'll get my duckling fix... but she gets to take care of them. Sounds good to me.

x2, but desktop computers are, if you want to carry them around. :pop

OMG! I could never do that!! :th and it is expensive so not tossing it lol but I might lock it in a drawer somewhere lol

And I suppose desktop computer or laptop is okay as long as I can still check BYC and watch TV. I don’t know if Twitter is available online now though. It might be app only now. Idk.
