Well, hubby came home and didn’t like the idea of an empty gardenbed sooo..
Neighbor came through with a limb cutter (love that woman) and I thinned the beast out. It still looks like garbage with all the cuttings and leaf litter around, but after I finish weeding and raking I think it won’t be half bad.

Eventually I will kill it and I will enjoy watching it die. But I’ll wait until I can buy more plants first.

Better to use a stump killer if you have cut it down. Use your drill and put the herbicide in the holes.

My temperate zone freezes elephant ears out unless I move them inside.

The chicks are so grownup already! :hit went to check on them tonight and they were roosting for the first time! :hit usually they have been very reliable about putting themselves to bed and being UNDER the “mama heating pad” when I check on them every night. Well tonight they were all perched on top of it! Guess they might be ready for a roost bar already!! :hit Guess they don’t need their “mama” anymore. :hit

I got all my tropical plants moved out of the hot tub room....finally. And I still have four trays if tomato and pepper plants for the garden and two flats of annual seedlings to tuck into the flower beds.

And here is the new big bed from two views. I plan to edge it with railroad ties or lengths of wooden utility poles. The old bed was 16 X 20. This will be 16 X 24.

And my seven sisters climbing rose bush...I like the purple plum behind too. Too bad this Rose has one flush of blooms and then is foliage the rest of the year.

Annabelle didn't sit much today. She was off most of the day but visited it a few times for very short periods. Maybe 10-15mins then she was gone again. Looked like Xena laid her egg in the nest again so there were 5 in there now. Maybe she is collecting until she is happy and then will sit? Or maybe it is just too blasted hot and she's like, "Uh this heat is ridiculous! I'm not going to just sit here and bake"? Or maybe she just isn't committed to hatching some babies? Idk. :idunno
 
Oh and also I ended up having a pretty good day after that. Figured I should probably update instead of just leaving it on negative haha I ended up sitting in that parking lot for like an hour total but then I did end up going to Panera Bread at like, idk, 2:30 or 3, and ate which was good because by this point even though I wasn’t mad anymore I was physically sick/weak cause I hadn’t eaten all day, so I did finally eat ha and then my food was ready really fast so I wasn’t there all that long and then I drove around for literally like hour and a half, two hours straight haha and then my brother texted me at like quarter to 5 inviting me over for dinner but I was driving and didn’t see it for like 10 mins and then I was sitting in a state forest parking lot a bit so I didn’t start heading there till like 10 or 15 mins after 5 and it took me like half an hour to get there so I didn’t get there till like an hour after he texted me, like quarter to 6, but it was fine. Dinner was just ready ha and then idk, we ate or whatever. And started watching TV. And FSIL got home not long after, like between 7:30 and 8 so we watched some Jeopardy since it was still on when she got there. And then, idk. I just always hang out a while, partially watching TV, partially talking, partially on phones/doing our own thing, but still nice. And of course the dogs. Got lots of cuddles in with the dogs lol they were so happy to get all the extra attention LOL they usually kinda just ignore them and let them do their own thing at night while they watch TV which is fine, good to have a dog not be too pesky and they do give them plenty of love, but anyway, of course I was wanting to pet and cuddle and really love them and they were soaking it all up LOL and may have snuck them a bit of meat from the meat sauce :lau :oops: and gave them a couple other treats which I made them work for and showed off some tricks to DB :lau and they each got a bone for a bit which they are. Well, there was only one bone left so one got a dental chew/stick thing and one got the bone but they didn’t even notice lol figured Frank wouldn’t notice or care while Libby might so have her the real bone then gave him an old one after he ate his chew but he was happy :lau

Anyway, I didn’t leave until like 9:30 LOL cause we started talking and then also watching a show and yeah lol

Wasn’t gonna go cause I was still a little sick and tired but yesterday they wanted to hang and I kinda accidentally blew them off :oops: so didn’t want to tonight too plus I wasn’t ready to go home yet and I figured I could use the socialization :lau figured I gotta start forcing myself to do thing and not be such a hermit or antisocial whatever lol so I did and it was good. I got to be away from home basically all day and I got to see the dogs tons today. And be social. And actually eat something good lol

And everyone’s asleep now so it’s good lol barely saw my dad but he was more pleasant so it was fine ha plus he called earlier so we’re already kinda over it. But now both are in bed. I might do the same. Maybe drink some water cause I’m very dehydrated and then sleep ha

But I think being away from home more often/longer is the key ha

Although of course now I am exhausted cause I’m never away that long. :lau

And the mental focus required to drive and socialize and work instead of stare at a phone screen :lau :oops:
