Is it glued in? The glued in kind is not good and (in my opinion)should be removed. It won’t be easy though. You have to chip it away in chunks. Real (loose) decorative gravel is fine.
No it's not glued in...just on top.
I'm wondering if it actually needs a bigger pot.

Which end goes up?

This is the first egg I ever had that was pointy on both ends. Does this mean that it will only hatch a cockerel?
Resolve with a candler or float in water....air cell will determine.

I've never been a big fan of sports involving projectiles whizzing near my head. I usually end up misjudging the reach I need to catch it and getting hit.
I do have fun throwing frisbees into different wind speeds at different angles to see how it reacts.

Frisbe golf...toss a frisbee to a chain goal found in many parks now. BIL loves the game.

Anybody know what the brown on this dumb little plant means?

I've had it inside on a window sill not in the direct light.

I think somebody waters it too much and that's what's causing it to turn brown.
Somebody thinks that it needs direct sunlight and put it outside this morning.

Outdoor juniper. Needs proper drainage though. Loosen and lift plant ball from the pot and cover the drain holes with mesh or fine screen...allows water to drain, but retains the soil mix. Thread one long fine copper wire up thru the screen/drain holes and and tie down the root ball to keep plant from falling or being blown out of the bonsai pot until the roots reach the pot walls.

That is fine then. Based on the picture I think the pot should be ok. And it should be ok to water pretty frequently as long as the soil is fast draining and the pot has holes in it.
Agree. Plenty of growth room.
Now that there are drain holes, the water will drain quickly. Keep juniper out of too much direct sunlight as that will hasten drying out the rootball. Misting can help keep the foliage hydrated. A deep soak once or twice a week and allow to drain. You want the center of the rootball to be moistened but never soggy.
Too much water will also remove nutrients quickly from the soil mix.
The browning is on the lower sides of the branches and snipping them will improve the look of your tree.

I need help.
I like this Peter Swanson dudes murder books.

Who else can I read that is similar?
Not familiar with him but have you gone to amazon and looked at what other people who have bought that book are buying? They have recommendations based on the purchase history. I've used that to find other books. I figure if other folks read this and liked it they may have similar tastes.

Look who was waiting on the deck for me this morning.

Later in the day, my neighbor came over to get tomato plants. Somehow the little turd found its way into the greenhouse and was standing in tray of water.

This time it made no effort to resist being picked up and seemed happy to be out of the water. Of course it held its mouth wide open waiting for food.

I put it on the opposite end of the deck. At first it refused to let go of my finger and get on the deck rail. It wasn't long before it flew down into the apple tree but its landings need a lot of improvement. It ended up fluttering the whole down through the tree until it was on the ground. Of course it had to take out a columbine blossom on the way down.
