➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I'm really hoping I have at least one broody this year. My beautiful avatar hen was my most excellent broody hen for 4 brooding seasons. She would usually go broody first, and then others would follow, inspired by her example I think. I lost her, along with 2 other broody hens, in the terrible bobcat attack last December. I only have 1 hen left who went broody last year, along with 4 new hens who may or may not have the instinct.

At times having multiple broodies was a huge hassle, but seeing the little chicks snuggling under mom made it all worth it.

I like using local farmers who are PIP certified, would rather take an hour or so drive than have them shipped. I am just funny that way. Have used Cypress Duck farm before for pullets with great success. So will probably take a ride down there later this week if all goes well. @KikisGirls have you decided to try Balut duck eggs again or are you looking on E bay for chicken eggs now? (did I miss something?) Could be both for you!! LOL
