➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

OOOOH something I can sorta actually answer! :celebrateI used them on the cats (Thundershirts)...had one cat that was too fat for the cat version so got the small/medium size dog version. After the cat passed I wound up giving it to my co-worker who had issues with her dog going ape sh** in the car on car rides. They make the cats go catatonic (no pun intended) but apparently it did help an very anxious chihuahua.:idunno

Thunder shirt/blanket. Haven’t used it personally but I know it works very well for some dogs.

Yea, that’s it. Couldn’t remember the name.

Cool. Thanks! I saw one advertised the other day, since we were coming up on the 4th. My dog isn’t really that extreme, he just wants to hide or be next to a human when it thunders. But I’ve wondered if they actually do anything. If it can help a chihuahua, that’s saying something! Lol

Not voodoo.. but maybe snake oil. I am not quite on the homeopathic bandwagon.
I’ve had friends try stuff like this, some swear by it and others say it’s useless.
I tend to think it’s placebo but to each their own.
umm i don't think placebo effect happens with animals other than people

I am aware. Didn’t mean it that way.

Say an owner gets worked up and stresses about fireworks messing with their animals, fusses all around them, tries to “calm” them by moving them or giving extra attention and in turn stresses the animal out by them feeding off the anxious energy.

Then owner applies homeopathic concoction of essential oils and sits back, waiting for it to kick in. Suddenly the owner is calm and not fussing with them and in turn the animal starts to wind down. Owner sees them winding down, relaxes, situation diffuses.

If it works then it works, placebo or not. I’m not bashing it, but the above example and similar situations are extremely common testimonials and hold no weight for me personally.

All I can say is I definately drug mine, they go down like lead balloons as the drugs work. Then I can Netflix and chill with the wife not wasting energy on anxious dogs.
