I haven't either and being from Louisiana I know how it's done I promise i just thought her grandma thought it was cruel which would've been super sweet. Honeslty I think the boiling alive part is very cruel but I still dig in at crawfish/ shrimp/ crab boil like I have no shame! but it just seems so horrendous to think about.

I also miss having the job of wacking crabs on the head with a long handled spoon and back into the purge bin before a crab boil. That was always my job as a kid when Grandma was boiling crabs.

I have never thought about it and I am not starting to think about it now.
I think it is hilarious though to think of someone trying to whack a crawfish to kill it before putting it into the pot.

She said crabs Kiki!!! Gahh! Not the one million crawfish that lose their lives every day during crawfish season in Louisiana!
