I'm pretty sure this is the last one I got off him. If you look close there's a hen in there too

Sdm I agree that's ridiculous and unfortunate. Pits are finally beginning to get a fan base bc of education. Maybe an advocate for game breeds and their amazing rich history could do the same for the birds. I kept a pit that was from very old bloodlines (she was Adba registered which I'm not even sure exists anymore). She was from old fighting lines but her breeders were law abiders and kept the lineage alive by putting them in pulling contests. Her father was so high strung, he was one enormous solid muscle and gorgeous. My hubby worked with the breeder and was offered pick of the litter bc he knew she'd be a pet. Our girl was stunning, pure orange and white with matching eyes. A full 60lbs and big. With all of her bad "genes" I was able to socialize her and train her and she was the sweetest dog alive. Don't get me wrong... I NEVER want another. She was neurotic unless she was worn out and really needed to be with people with a high intensity lifestyle, which I accommodated for her until I got pregnant, but after that she was too much to handle (although I did and kept her until she passed at 14) All that to say that these breeds people deem as bad are actually some of the most amazing animals to have if you know what you're getting into. The key is education and for the right people to know about the breed so they can rightfully get into it, support it and advocate for it.

Calm down you beast!!!

I’m so sorry Urs. :( You’re right, at the very least they had a good and painfree life with you. Your neighbor sounds like a real piece of work.. come move out into the country with me hehe.

I’m with you, why should people be punished for housing animals that make them more self-sufficient and provide such a wholesome hobby? Why are people allowed to chain a dog up outside for hours and blast patio music until 2am but they can’t handle the sweet music of a rooster crow?
The men in the neighborhood don't have a problem, because most get up early to go to work and have said the actually enjoyed hearing our rooster when we had one. We checked with the neighbors years ago and had a rooster for about 4 years, until a new neighbor moved in, we brought them a dozen fresh eggs, bread and wine. Welcomed them to the neighborhood, told them about the Roo and asked that they come to us if he became a problem. Sadly they chose to go behind our back instead, what can you say some people are just cowards. The SPCA still gave us 15 days to rehome him. Which we were able to do.
