➡Kiki's Pansy Egg Hatch

Pics
Pulled my quitters. Also discovered a bad egg that had burst. :sick This is what happens when you forget to check the incubators all week.
19 quitters or bad eggs pulled. I'll have to get a final lockdown count when I get home tonight.
Yuck. I hope the explosion doesn't hurt.:fl

i’ve got a lot of work to do tonight!! put incubator #1 back together and set homegrowns as test due to recent poor hatch rate.....need to move lockdown eggs in there briefly while I get incubator 2 ready for lockdown. have to stop and pick up more grippy liner this afternoon too!!

I'm astounded! I lowered the temperature on my incubator this time, as last time my eggs hatched early... well... THIS TIME they're hatching early too! It's day 16 and half of the hatch has popped out! Pray that I don't have the medical issues that I had last time!
check for “hot spots”.......i’m still fighting temps all across the spectrum in incubator #1 with and without turner in place. that’s why i’m checking #2 without turner prior to lockdown to make sure it’s not having same issues

Of the seven, I think one may have been infertile or quit; no pip evident and no vibration when I touch the egg. Chick #6 hatched but is struggling to stand and I'm praying that it's only getting used to being out of the shell, and not splay leg; Sadly, I think I'm hoping against all hope as it's holding one shoulder higher than the other, which is what my last hatch did before the splay leg became evident (was an awful hatch). The other five have been moved out of the incubator and into the brooder, but #6 is staying in incubation awhile longer as its hatch-mates were walking, sitting and laying on the poor thing. Baby birds are absolutely brutal with those that can't get out of their way.:rant

Culled #6, one shoulder held much higher than other, curled toes on left foot, leg splayed, unable to right itself and one eye was bulging and screaming for all he was worth... Rather than go through what I went through this last hatch, only to lose them anyhow... I put it out of its misery. #7 had no pip, no vibration when touched or held and a very dark shell (making it impossible for me to candle properly), eggcropsy... one very wet and dead chick.
