Remember the tree snapped off last spring and hit the palm I grew? Palm is sending up bloom stalks this year.

The tree still stands and is now home to a family of Pileated Woodpeckers. I've been watch 2 adults come and go since late Feb. They have been so difficult to get a picture but today I was able to snap one through the window! :celebrate I think it was feeding time!
I've been reading about them. They mate for life and could possibly raise 2-3 broods per year in this area.

I have tried germinating rose seeds unsuccessfully numerous times. I put rose seeds in the refrigerator in November 2023.

Last spring I planted some of them. None germinated.

Last week I checked on the rose seeds that had been forgotten in the refrigerator for 13 months. One seed had germinated. I planted it.

Looks like a rose to me.

you can plant citrus seeds after they've dried, too. We just throw them into the impatiens planters.. We always have too many baby trees to plant out. Apple and pear seeds have sprouted for me, but not maple or acorns.
Chestnuts would'nt sprout for me by the "months in the fridge" method, but I got 3 trees by direct planting them out in my woodlot. 🤔go figure.
