@kelseyk I should have some Salmon faverolle eggs in the spring. I have 3 hens now and I'm growing out 2 roosters now to put the best looking one with my ladies, also have 2 more girls that I'm growing out so hoping to have hatching eggs and chicks in the spring. I love my Fav girls they are so cute and they waddle when they run.

I got these eggs on the mail today and they are ready to go on the incubator. First time doing this, so who knows what will happen. They are Blue Copper Marans. Wish me luck!

So I will probably be joining in a week or so. I started collecting more silkie eggs last night. I have a new Showgirl hen and I'm hoping to get a few eggs from her to try an experiment. I'm also getting my Blue cochin trio tonight. As soon as they start laying I'm going to set a few of their eggs to in hopes of getting a few splash chicks to add to my breeders next spring.

Polish, Polish over bantam cochin and Welsummer over my Araucana but only a few each for my 10 egg incubator. I think I was a bit premature because the boys weren't in with the girls very long. I'll eat a few eggs and once fertility looks good I'll try again
Polish can be truck sometimes. Mine always gives me a run for my money lol but her offspring is amazing.

I might have to take you up on that offer!

Ok yall so I have an emergency, my eggs are on day 15 and after weeding out the unfertil and dead one we have 14 eggs left in the bator. So we are right here in this hurricane and the power has been off since 8 this morning, do you think my eggs stand a chance at surviving? I put some blankets around the bator to retain heat but I've been gone out helping with other people today so I dont know if they are cold or not😭

Hmmm anyway you can boil water on a gas grill or outside fire pit?

Boil water put it in water bottles and put it in the incubator. Change these out once the temp starts dropping.

How would I know if the temp was dropping? I can see if we can heat some water up, we made a emergency rush to Walmart and got some more charcoal for the grill I'll see if I can get some water heating in there, do you think I could maybe put some coffee mugs in there and put the hot water in the mugs? I have a tea kettle we can use to heat the water in, would the water maybe spike humidity and drown the babies? Or do you think they will be fine, or is that why I need to use bottles so I can keep the water from evaporating? Sorry for the questions we didnt think it would get this bad, but the power had been going on and off all morning since 5 and then around 8 it was completely gone...
