Tomorrow is hatch day for the Welsummers. 10 looked great and the 11th looks a bit iffy at lockdown candle. Waiting on pips now

Sebright/bantam EE hatch is complete. 6/7 sebrights, with the 7th rupturing it’s yolk/vessels in ovo, and 6/8 EE, with the 2 that didn’t hatch malpositioned and couldn’t internally pip. Everyone else looks great!

I have one good pip and two chirping this morning with my miracle chicks. I thought one was malpositioned and pipping at the wrong end but just discovered it was old damage as I was topping off the water well in the Brinsea.

The two eggs I expected to hatch still haven't and frankly it's amazing that the two that are trying to hatch are even trying. I am fully expecting to have to step in and assist at least one of them .

Two days ago when they went into lock down I scraped off all the access candle wax that I could to make it easier for the chick to work its way out. We shall see what develops.

C'mon St Brigid, do your stuff!

This is my next batch of shipped eggs. Day 18 and when I candled them this morning, I saw this. Could this possibly be a pip this early?? I’m hoping I didn’t crack or damage it while handling but I candled yesterday, since I’m keeping a close eye on the air cells and I’m sure I would have noticed it. I did see movement this am.

Dang... SOME days go by without my hands bleeding. Today... (so far). I actually carry gloves clipped to a belt loop but I forget to put them on.

I wear gloves constantly when working outside. I have tan lines on my wrists...
