That’s cool. I definitely prefer a thinner dog with less hair that’s weird that he is so much smaller than Chase. Do field goldens have any specific size requirements? Or are the just thinner?

Not specific sizing it depends on the breeder. Some are bigger. And any golden can be a "field dog" used for hunting. But field style goldens have lab like coats with a tad longer fur and have a german shorthair pointer energy.
I keep him lean to. Our vet was suprised that he isnt overweight and is perfectly healthy. As most goldens are overweight atleast around me.

Chase has lot of energy! But he is very good at knowing when to be calm. I have no problem with him. Chase isn’t fat either (from looking at the pictures his shoulders look a bit stockier than yours) do most goldens just get fat when they get older or even when younger? Chase free feds and has great portion control

I wasnt saying Chase was fat he looks healthy. Most goldens dont just get fat. Owners dont provide enough exercise qnd some goldens have health issues. Denver is a few lbs over but we are trying to figure out whats wrong(im thinking thryoid or she has a hip problem) Wheras her brother is 83lbs and healthy.
Another golden i know that passed was 12 and healthy not overweight.

This is my sister's dog (the Golden). She's obvs tennis ball obsessed. (My dog is the one chasing her.)

She has a cool story though (Tater, the Golden). She went through the "prison system" and inmates got to keep and train her for like 6 months.

She has been a great dog (at least from an aunty's perspective ) no, but really.

We've always called her a "Field Golden" since she is a little smaller statured an loves to run, (and retrieve) but I guess her breed could be anyone's guess. Gotta be some Golden in her, though!
