🐝💗Our Backyard Beekeeping Journey!💗🐝

I like the mix of left over and fall honey more than the sweet spring honey that the family likes.
Hubby likes the stuff we just extracted better than the "sweet water" we got in June.

Our June honey tasted different to me. I think the honey I'd been buying from my Bee Friend Ed was fall honey. Ours might be the first spring honey I've ever tasted.

Our fall has a slight throat burn (heat) that my daughter and I like and tones down the sweet, our spring is predominantly Blueberry and is a smoother sweeter honey. Still good and take my daily dose.

So question, we used to have pine trees in our front yard. I never noticed bees on them. Would bees feed from them and if so what would the honey taste like??
I just did a search, they can use the resin for making propolis. They can also get honeydew nectar from other insects on the trees in some areas. Pollen from pine trees is low in protein and they don't produce nectar.

Cool! I was wondering if it did make honey and if so would it taste like a pine tree I guess lol. It wouldn’t probably taste the best.
