Let me preface this by saying I have gone back and forth on this. Today I am leaning heavily towards cockerel. We love them either way, I just need to know! We ordered 10 more chickens for September and we want a rooster. My preference is not a Polish Roo but... that's life and he's family.
These are our first chickens. We have 5 now (2 Delawares, a Rhode Island Red, and Black Star, and this Polish). Polish had the round forward top that typically indicates pullet. I'm guessing it isn't fool proof.
The red wattles and the droopy poof say cockerel, but the round-ish hackles and tail feathers said to me pullet. He can't be a pullet can he?
My fiancee has been hearing crowing and I just have to believe it's this feller. Thoughts?
