Quote: Are you serious??????? They would NOT want me to be a parent at that school. On snack days, I would send baby carrots, celery, cucumber and tomato slices. That's what I eat for a snack, so they would have to. The teacher would probably call me or send a note and tell me that I was exempt from buying and sending snacks.

I was on the Health Committee for my school district and we had looked at the "cupcakes coming into school " issue. Sanitation was the biggest issue, NOT content. Eventually after a full discussion we decided to ban ALL food coming into school UNTIL the superintendent made her opionion known that our dicision was too harsh, and everyone caved. CAVED!!! Once a month junk food is ok now for the monthly birthday celebrations. Whatever happened to just singing "happy BIrthday"? I quit the committee.
Coral-- stick with it, my kids know the food they eat make them healthier and I am expecting them to live to 100 and cancer free and heart disease free IF they eat all the good foods. A limited few eat as well as my kids; and I do know other parents that wont let their kids eat school lunches. I do feel like I have lost control on the food issues since they started attending public school.
I quit the school council after 3 years when NONE of our ideas took hold.

I"m rather stumped by the attittued that the only valid information is in a study.
I just realized that we are taking over the 100 meaties thread---sorry OP. I must have zoned out as I thought I was on the FF thread.
Quote:Exactly. Whatever did people do before double blind studies, I don't know. I guess they just stood on one spot, hoping not to die.
It was called common sense, now a days it is a rare thing to have!
Quote:Years ago I was a lowly tech, mostly wash lab ware, and heard interesting coversations over the years. NOw, I question the outcome of a study based on who is paying for it. ANd a study in itself is not enough information. Cause and effect is usually not established. Yet that is the vew the average person takes now.Exactly. Whatever did people do before double blind studies, I don't know. I guess they just stood on one spot, hoping not to die.
Finding the old information is a challenge-- the first step was to open up my thinking to allow for it. A process that started with reading Atkins 10+ years ago and has lead me to growing out my own meaties and investigating better feed sources. Sad but it is not main stream stuff.
I haven't been using ACV at all, and still get high females just by using FF.Me too...it's a lonely road. Keep it up! It always seems to be a male that does that when I speak of ACV or FF or natural management methods also...for some reason they can't seem to wrap their minds around a new(old)concept like a woman can. For some reason it seems to make them feel insecure or threatened in some way and it's all a mystery to me.![]()

Common sense is experience and thinking and more experience . . . . where can anyone get experience-- the doing of? TO me that is common sense.
Look at how much we are learning on this thread watching these meaties grow and kuntry girl keeping us updated and the sharing of what we know. . . . it all becomes our common sense.
