12 week old - are they hens or roosters??

Out of my 9 straight run BR only one was a pullet, so I know how you feel.

Those barred Rocks are developing male saddle and hackle feathers. You can see them in a few of the shots.

At 6-8 weeks the BR still had their baby feathers and were still tiny! They matured so much slower than the other ones.

Which is another sign leading to "cockerel". Sorry.

The Barred Rocks look like cockerels to me. My female Barred Rocks are more of a grey with white veregation. The cockerels are white with black. That's what yours look like. They have MUCH more white than my pullets do.
