It looks like they are from Petaluma. Are you familiar with what breed they might be?

Yes, they have https://www.hyline.com/varieties. brown hens and a white rooster in the mix. Likely the hy-line 36 but you never know.

Whole foods had the same brown eggs

Looks like I'm out. As I was afraid would be the case, the eggs I set aren't fertilized. No development at all when I candled tonight. Guess I'll have to try again with them in the spring.

Thanks, y'all. Oh, well! It would have been a pretty crazy time of year for me to raise chicks anyway, with winter coming on.

I candled again last night. Every one of my silkie eggs are developing great but I didn't see a thing in any of the turkey eggs :/ The turkeys are the ones I really wanted to hatch but I guess the toms just aren't in that mood yet. My hens that are laying better figure it out that they can't have babies till that deed is done lol. One already tried going broody in the woods and last night, the other one that's laying was fluffed up in the corner with her newest egg tucked underneath

My husband said he dreamt of 3 chicks (the fowl kind )

So hopefully we’ll get at least three that hatch out of this batch because my kids really want some chicks

3 would be perfect since we could keep them indoors this winter until they’re old enough to stand the cold without a heat source.
