I got to show a friend a candled egg today. She cried happy tears. It's always wonderful to see a developing chick with its amazing network of veins, but then to see it with someone who's never seen one makes the whole process even more awe inspiring!

I have 4 pipped today! I set 24, one died, 5 never developed 18 went into lockdown. I have been using the same old incubator for 12 years now and it has stayed a consistent 99.8-100.1 the entire time. Might be because I haven't turned it off in 9 months

My offspring opened the gate for me when I got home so he could tell me he heard peeping in the incubator. Tid bit early, assuming it’s the Silkie bantam/Sebright cross since the egg was no bigger than a quail egg

Soon it will be time to play...
