Question:
What type of water do you use in the incubator? (for humidity)

I have bottled spring water, tap water, or refrigerator water. I don't have any distilled on hand, though.
Should use distilled if possible but the others will work in a pinch and filtered is better than tap but I would let it warm to room temp before adding if out of the fridge

So I have a Dottie that has taken up residence in a nesting box, this is the second day. I don't think it will make the hatch date,, but when is the right time to slide a few eggs that aren't hers under her? And does this mean I may be able to add the 15 chicks that are arriving around the 20th to her brood?

I might be able to get distilled water, though.
Distilled would be best.

From Brinsea:
"The Water
We always recommend using distilled water in your incubator. Distilled water is free of contaminants and it prevents mineral deposits in the incubators. Such deposits allow bacteria to grow. Distilled water can also help to extend the life of the silicone tubing, which is important if you are using an Advance Humidity Pump or an EX model incubator. "
