Would you be willing to give up your freedom of a capalist market for a socilast/communist one?

Just asking the question and not expecting an answer.

I'm not saying the gov't should make it mandatory to fix our pets, just set a price we can all pay and not loose an arm over it. Lots of vets want check ups, blood work, 2 nights stay, then meds and the surgery. total? $200-600 for a neuter, worse for a female. It's crazy!

I have money for food and emergency vet needs, I love to spoil my pets with good food. But to gouge me for wanting to better my pets life and lower their risk of cancer? No thanks. Vets are in it as a business, for money. Sure some can be very nice and work with you, but most don't care.

People need to do far better research about the pet they want and FOSTER first to see if they can even handle it! As well as put money away every month that they would be spending on food, never touch it and see just how much goes into it.
Backyard breeders, people buying for gifts, owners who let intact animals run free, etc also makes the issue far worse.

I work at a dog rescue and it really is depressing. There are 30 dogs that are still here for the whole year I've been there. Others have been there 2-4 years! But I must say, if they didn't charge almost $400 per dog, I would have adopted two long ago. CL you can get a dog for free or nearly free. Those dogs on CL or state shelters need homes more than ones at expensive no-kills or other rescues.
