The orp is definately a splash very pretty. the GA Delaware hatch is complete, 20 psyco popcorn babies in the brooder doing well very alert and curious. one splash Orp and 3 PA Dels in the brooder box . there were 3 GA Dels and 1 Orp that did not make it I candled the two smokey eggs and they are still moving around and may still hatch

I knew from watching Cetawins hatch they were going to give me trouble..
9 PA Dels left 2 of them have pipped

Excellent! So, at first candling, you had 27 and removed 4 and out of the remaining 23, you have 20. Not too shabby! Now, I hope Smoky's two pop on outa there. They really can take longer than others, up till the end of Day 22, even.

Sorry for your loss. Is that blood on that first picture by the foot. I know it doesn't take much, when they start to go down hill it is fast.

Looking at the photo again, you can't see it. But I saw it in person so I know it was there.

Hey, even very experienced hatchers lose some. It's usually something beyond your control and you just can't always figure it out. You did an excellent job! I see a beautiful Delaware flock in your future!

I know it's hard to lose a baby, especially one so dear. Like Cyn says sometimes you just don't know what was wrong, most likely some sort of internal issue. Maybe the lungs didn't develop correctly.
