My one hen Red layed her 1st on Friday, which ended up to be a big nightmare and a prolapsed vent. Anyhow, since then she is doing great.
This morning I went out after the storm to check on the girls and everyone seemed fine. A nice surprise was a beautiful egg in a nest box. I assumed Big Red had layed it since she has been laying one a day since Friday. I soon learned she did not, as by 10am she went in to lay her egg for the day.
I assume it was "Little Red" since she is the only one with a bright red comb. I do have 2 others, but I am fairly confident they are not ready to lay just yet.
Anyhow, congrats to "LR" for making such a beautiful 1st egg! Maybe Irene "scared the egg out of her!" LOL
.......I know........Bad joke....
