2014 Hatchery Chick Orders

How do you pick them up at 10pm?  Isn't the post office closed?

I had them sent to the main distribution center in tpa open 24 hrs. Otherwise I wouldn't have gotten them till today and prolly more losses. they called me and we picked them up

So, how do you arrange for that? Do you just put that for the address and then your # for them to contact. Ours usually spend the night about 20 miles from here before getting to our post office early in the morning. It was only an issue once when we had an extreme cold front come in. We ended up losing 6 out of 10 bantams and 1 out of 7 packing peanuts that probably could have been avoided if a) I would have ordered more chicks and b) I could have picked them up the night before.

It is such a looooooong time to wait I got 16 assorted silkies from Hardin Poultry/Heirloom Orpingtons and 7 chicks from TSC.

Cool your getting your chicks the same time I am! I love bourbon red turkeys, they are the most curious things. I have one in my profile picture and her name is Christmas.

Wow that is a lot of eggs. My dad and I used to raise Quail. We would hatch them out and then let them go when they got big enough. We stopped a couple years ago because the cost of feed went up and then my dog got underneath the fence and netting and killed them all, but now I have a bunch of chickens!

I just gave them the address of the main distribution center and they put my number for them to call. The dist centers are used to it they told me. I think I really cut losses that way, only lost 1 out of 79.
