@Sally Sunshine >> no photo, unless you want to show off your pretty eggs!!! sure we want to see them!!! did you draw on any??? name any????? wonder if that lady on fb is gonna remember to send me NN eggs ughhhhhhhhh Well yes, yes I did. Here are the names I picked out. Note..there is only one boy name. All I need is one boy, that's enough for me. I also wanted some NN's, tried to find some. Couldn't. :/
I wrote on mine but only what hen layed the egg, but then my husband reminded me once they're hatched and running around I'm not gonna know who layed what!

Anyone selling or know someone selling BBS or sex-link hatching eggs? I don't want to pay a lot.

We currently have Blue Sex Links and BBS Marans available. Remember our Hatching Eggs are on SALE 10% off, for BYC members, until November 15th.
Thank you. Well I ended up getting some. :D So far I have gotten eggs from Meyer, now let's try MPC. :p I had gotten 36 eggs from Meyer, split them with a friend, and only one hatched. :th Most developed but died around Day 18 or never pipped

I write an egg number on mine. The egg number goes in a notebook with hen and rooster, egg weight, egg shell hue, date laid, date set. The eggs then go into mesh pedigree bags. They get leg banded when they come out of the bags.

I think I've seen some of your photos. I wondered if they had a hard time standing, or getting their legs under them when they hatch. Or, do you take them out early enough there isn't a problem?

I didn't mark those eggs with names until Sally asked if I had. Just for fun. I still only want one boy though. I can wish right?

You can wish.
The chicks are too robust to be bothered by the bags. The little houdinis did a prison break out of everything else I used.
The bags are big enough that I can put up to 5 eggs in them. They're none too fond of being in there but they have a good life once sprung.

I have considered just setting eggs from pairings in the future and setting eggs every 3 or 4 days so I can move them to the hatcher. I may try that come spring when everyone is laying well and I have all my trap nests working.

Oh man I forgot to set my last batch of eggs before I left for work :barnie Guess who's going to have to go to the coop tonight at midnight when I get home to grab and set eggs. Sigh.

Oh well, you will have some late ones like me. :) I will have some early birds and late.

I found this, and well... I bought it.

I LOVE that! I keep wanting to get one but not finding it anywhere. Chickens are so rarely the subject of my favorite holiday. It is good you didn't let it pass you by, I did last year and woe is me LMAO

Thank you! But I agree, I rarely find any type of holiday chicken decor.
