2017 Gosling Hatch a long!!

Pics
I sprayed a stream of warm water around the baby and within under one minute it popped out! The other is making noise after I peeled a tiny puece of shell off. I think we are doing good so far!! Pics after little one is dried completely and comfy with sibling. The 2nd one has dark feathers so....
Awesome, look forward to pics.

These are from same mom and dad. Mom has tiny bit of dark but this little one has a lot...mouthy like his father too. LOL

What breed again.. That is adorable.

Supposedly White Chinese. Dad looks 100% and daughter 100% (hers hasn't hatched yet) but mom looks a little shorter and has black on her head and under her wings. They all have the knob though so I don't know. Still waiting on little pokey who is peeping, he did manage to chip away another tiny piece of shell. I cannot wait to see the colors on him...or her. These 3 are from Lucy, the one from Laverne is being stubborn like her and no cracks in shell whatsoever. LOL I thought I saw a little crack on it but it was hair, oops!

No hair line crack? sorry couldn't resist. Maybe a little brown Chinese mixed in there. .

LOL...I never would've come up with that, too stressed. Still waiting fot little pokey and nothing is happening with the other. I was thinking it might have twins since I couldn't see a thing but the egg would get darker in several places so I know there was still movement when they went in lock down. The incubator smells horrible and it's gross. Can I clean it up after the little on hatches if the other hasn't pipped or would it be too dangerous. I'm afraid of bacteria growing, there's a lot of yellow and greenish blue gunk in there. I did pull out empty shells when I pulled out babies and one looked like it had part of an embryo in it. Was that like a placenta maybe?

Maybe that nasty poop they do sometimes at hatch.. I cannot say if its safe to clean out the bator after this lil one hatches. I'd say you risk losing humidity and heat by doing that.

What you saw was embryonic waste. They do produce waste while they are developing and after they hatch it's left in the egg.

What day of incubation is the slower one on? Do you know if it has internally pipped?

That smell seems to come from goose hatching, I know exactly the smell you mean. It's not a good smell, but it doesn't hurt anything.

I wouldn't clean the incubator. It's one thing to open it for a little bit to check eggs or pull a hatched bird out or do an assisted hatch but having it open long enough to clean it is not a good a idea during a hatch. If you want to do some quick spot cleaning that shouldn't hurt anything but a real clean should wait until after the hatch.
