2017 Gosling Hatch a long!!

Pics
I'm already over brooding the goslings. I forgot how much of a handful a group of african babies can be! So, I grabbed one of my african geese and took her inside the house to get her to adopt them. She was immediately drawn to them and they have been bonding for the last two hours. Hope that by tomorrow, I can release them outside as one big family.
That's great :) the baby stuff does get old after a while, lol. I have to bottle raise babies from one of my dairy goats every year and as much as love it I'm always so happy once they've weened and have finally bonded with the herd. So, congrats on getting them adopted! :)

Ah at least it's a happy ending for them then..:love
I totally get what you mean.;) My goslings are almost a week old and they are so messy it's unreal! And I swear they are growing right before my eyes.
They are super cute and funny to be with and I love them to bits, but filthy houseguests, and eat and drink so much!! Bless their fluffy little butts...

Thanks, ladies! I am thrilled that my goose accepted the goslings. She's not happy about being inside the house, but we will take them outside this afternoon. Feel bad for their biological momma. She was unable to hatch any remaining eggs, so no babies for her this year. Maybe next year.

@WRVgirl any update on the egg? When do you move?

Wednesday! We are cleaning and throwing things away and stressing out about everything still left to do. Lol

Egg is still going good! I saw some movement last night, I'm starting to get nervous about traveling with it though. Not sure how to hold it steady on its side in the car. Cross your fingers the incubator works fine in the car.

I've been meaning to update, things are just crazy right now.

How are your babies??? Any new pictures?!

It looks like I only have two of the five goose eggs developing. Definitely saw movement. One of the other three might be OK but not sure yet. Oh hope the two hatch.
WRV...I'm sure you'll get that egg there safe and sound. If worse comes to worse, you can always slide it down in your bra. lol but it does work! :)

I'm trying to hunt down some more goose eggs but it's a bad time of year for it. I have one gander from this year that we all got attached to but I don't want to breed so he needs his own pen and I was hoping to get another gosling to go in that pen with him. Not a lot of luck. Might just end up ordering something from Metzer. I'd love a sebbie but I'm not paying $30 an egg (only seller I can find) for eggs that I'm hatching just as pets.

Haven't priced them but have you checked Murray McMurray? I've gotten chicks from them several times and never had any issues, but I could've just been lucky. ;)

Final update: I moved my goose and babies outside. Her mate was SO happy to see the babies that he forgot about the goose. She promptly marched everyone back to her old nest location and her whole group set up a perimeter to protect the goslings. All is well in their world. :)
