2018 Nankin Bantams Discussion

Mine are pipping and chirping! I was asking about timing...yesterday was day 19 and a few started pipping internally and one chirped back at me. By 5 am today (day 20) three had the first shell pip and three others are pipped internally and chirping. The other two are alive as I can see movement on both when candling, but no head or beak apparent and one is a little sloshy (air cell issue maybe, as that one has a big saddle.) Fingers crossed!

Happy Nankin Chick Dance, keep us posted with pics.

Everyone who hatches Nankins in incubator (I'm using NR 360) can you weigh in on whether they tend to pip and hatch early? I've read every Nankin thread I can find, so forgive me if it's been covered already...the internet seems to be firmly divided between "yes, my bantams always hatch early" and "no, the incubation is 21 days + or - just like any other chicken. " I know variables such as temp etc. affect that, just looking for trends as I decide what day to lockdown.
My latest hatch yesterday was all 5 at 21 days on the dot.
Otherwise they’ve been between 20 - 21 days.

Need help sexing three month old Nankins.Thank you all.
