Woot woot! I'm a newbie too, and I have a pending order with MPC to be delivered in April. I like your coop, did you get instructions for it or just build it yourself? I know I should have built mine beforehand, but I am handy so putting something together around April/May will be fine.

My city allows us up to 12, I have 9 on order. Let's see what happens here!

Me tooo! What deliver date did you pick? Mine is April 9th since the 2nd was sold out for some of the breeds I wanted. What chicks did you order?

I am new! I have a order in with My Pet Chicken for April. I can't stand this waiting! However seeing the horror stories of receiving dead chicks in the mail I am glad it will be warmer weather when mine are shipped. My city ordinance only allows 6 hens. So I have 6 chicks coming and I am just hoping they all make it! 1 Crested Legbar, 1 Easter Egger, 1 Partridge Cochin, 1 Orp, 1Barred Rock, 1 mystery Maran. I have the small brooder ready to go but the larger one for week 2 and up is still in the works.

I originally was going to wait, but I broke down and ordered from a site that ships earlier even in small quantities. They had extra heat packs that were still warm even after a 48 hr ship time! I was lucky!
We are allowed 4 hens....I ordered 5 just in case...They sent 7, all arrived healthy. So now I have 7 chicks. Hopefully no one reports me. xD I mean I could always rehome a few.

Where are you located? I got two batches of chicks from MPC one on dec 18th, & the second on feb 5th. Both during pretty bad cold snaps. They shipped beautifully. I’m sure yours will ship wonderfully as well. Just make sure to call the post office before they ship out so they know to call you once theyve arrived. My post office delivers chicks to the door, I don’t think I would have been so lucky had I not gone and picked both boxes up there. So eggcited for you!!!

What is everyone using as a brooder setup? After my first batch of chicks I’m doing things different this time. Just curious what you guys are using/doing?

I'd love to know what everyone uses for a brooder as well!! First timer here and there are options it sounds like!!

They were going crazy digging around in all that extra space.
I miss having them up here but more room is better!
