One has lost an alarming amount of weight. They are so small I kept them seperated from the other emu chicks until they gain some strength and hopefully eat something soon. I am getting worried. They will drink water assisted by me though so there is that.

How long ago did they hatch? Just a couple days, right? Mine have never eaten until they've been hatched for at least four or five days. I'd make food available to them and they'll eat it when hungry :) Maybe tempt them with some collard greens. That's always been the first thing I've been able to get my chicks to eat.

Ok I will go get them some collards right now. Yes only a few days old now. I am paranoid lol. I gave them a chicken that just hatched today too so hopefully that will help too. It is all I had and a total surprise too from a hidden broody nest under out feed shed. Keeping my eyes out for more chicks. Life on the farm lol They have beautiful nest boxs too.

so my second 10 have 16 days left, so they are 34 days in. i've noticed that if they tap during turning some have a different sound. it's a higher sound, like a china plate. is this the sound they talk about in the emu farmer book. The porcline (not spelled right) sound? anybody else ever notice and difference in egg sound? note: i not banging them together but they do occasionally bump and some sound different than others.
