2019 Spring Ducklings are here!

I did now running back and forth to check everybody. One started zipping and peeping so I will have another out shortly. I think I will have to help the breach one. I made a hole around where he pipped so he could get air but was a drop of blood and stopped don't think he's quite ready yet.

This is a great article and I feel better about what I am doing. He is in there chewing away. I don't have coconut oil. I wasn't prepared for them to come 2 days early. @WVduckchick can I substitute food grade mineral oil?

I learned some things tonight. Yes you can stay up all night with an egg. Just peeled him out. He was ready all yolk absorbed. I probably should have done it earlier but after killing one the first time I was wanting to wait. His feet were behind his head so he never would have gotten out by himself. He couldn't even get out of the membrane I had to help there. He is resting in the incubator now. Pretty labored breathing. Don't know if he's going to make it, but confident this time I did everything I could. Thanks @Miss Lydia for the link and thanks to @Pyxis and @WVduckchick for the article. :fl

He is a little w onky but still with me. I left him in the incubator till this morning and put him in the brooder with the other two this morning. They picked on him a bit but seem to have settled down. The leg that was behind his head will probably need to be hobbled but I want to give him a day with no more stress. No one has eaten or drunk yet but everybody pooped so not to worried. I will show them to the water a little later. unfortunately, the mice drank all my save a chick, so off to the feed store this morning. Just hope I don't find dino sized mice.
