2019 Spring Ducklings are here!

I too bad a brooder disaster this morning and after sitting under the lamp for a few hours pew.:sick
. Have you done your brooder extension? I did not have any escapees last night but thebrooder hits the geese below chest level and they could just step out of they wanted to.
I had a cat with no name and we ended up making her Nona. Short for no name.

Thou shall not jump out of my brooder!

The little ones are still outside, it is warm and humid here like in a green house. But tonight it is forecasted to drop down to 2°C (36F) and tomorrow night we'll have frost again. - Makes your head spin!
Nona - must speak with my wife! At the moment she is the only duck who kept being normal. Katarina and Curiosity are breeding Wood-Ducks: They both sit on two fake wooden eggs and their hormones are riding the rollercoaster…

Forgot to ask: Any more details of the brooder-disaster? Photos? Just curious and want to avoid mistakes that have been made b4.

The ducklings are back inside, it is still 20°C (68F) but because the air is so humid it feels much colder.

The new numbers are in too and the Duckling Progress Page has been updated:
full

I will definitely keep an eye on Magpie Blue, she's a light weight. And WOW! those White Layers are adding! The heaviest two weigh more than ½lbs.

They decided to splash and play in the water and my crawfish tray was over run. They also got their food wet and wet Flock raiser smells terrible in additional to set poop all warmed by the heat lamp. I had to empty the brooder and start over.

Almost the same happened here: Somehow they tilted their little waterer and all the water ran out, the catch bin overflowed and the pine shavings, ping pellets and Duckling Starter combined into a concrete like mix, together with the poop and the urin…:sick
I had to restart too, while the ducklings and the ducks enjoyed their meeting i was hard at work. :he Ready for the next week…
