I think your doing what’s best for Forest. That is way too many ducklings for her. Don’t feel like a traitor you have made the right decision I think.

Update on Forest: I caved in and PM'ed @WVduckchick, maybe she knows somebody around here who is willing to take her.
She is still active and gaining weight, she went from 40 grams on Wednesday to 74 grams today.
But i had to rescue her last night the pile of ducklings - they just used her as a mattress… And twice today, first she was boxed in behind the waterer by the others and the second time she (was?) rolled over and could not get back up.
I keep her as long as i can, but in the long run she won't stand a chance against 14 others…

If you lived where you used to live, we would take her. My wife works from home. We are a hundred miles from Houston. With the luck you have had recently, I would not waste my money on lottery tickets. It will all turn around and you will have good luck again. And i would definitely bring her to you - and meet Abby, Dabby, Gabby and Jabby! - but you live 4½ hours away from me. That's a long time for a hungry, thirsty and afraid duckling!I will definitely take her if you really want to rehome her!
