All, it is forecasted to be 24°C (75F) on Thursday here with cloudy skies and no harsh sunlight. I am thinking about a short excursion to the outside with little ones to meet the grown up ducks through the fence. Any concerns?

OK, last thing for today, they had their first banana…

One very ripe banana, Niacin, Vitamin B complex and two tablespoons of apple-cider.

Quick question: How do you fill the waterer? And how long does it last?

Update for the Momma Heat Cave Article: I bought two large packets of pine shavings today @kmart and on my way back out i saw two products that can easily be turned into MHCs.
And i had to add a covered porch to the MHC for the larger ducklings.

Quick question: How do you fill the waterer? And how long does it last?

You can unscrew the bottle from the bottom, clean it (!), fill the bottle with water and turn the whole thing over:

It lasts for a few seconds… Just kidding! I have to refill it 4-5 times a day.
Filled up at ~10pm it lasts barely for the night, together with the three-hole Apple-Cider bottle-waterer.

Does anybody know how to assign a thumbnail picture to an article?
On my article page there is a thumbnail for my coop-article (i don't know how that was assigned) but for my other two articles there isn't. I'd like to change that but i don't know how.

I had to go to a gallon bottle. The little guys went dry last night. No escapees today. Hope none tonight. The geese now are big enough to hang their heads over the brooder. Wish I had started weighing them. More pictures tomorrow.

Did you just change the bottle or the whole waterer? If i have to go to a larger base, my »keep the brooder dry« construction will no longer work…
