All the babies are adorable! I'm glad Forest found a good home! I like Amelia for a name!

the only ones of mine that actually have sex defined names are Donella <named for Donald Duck cause when I first got her and she would get mad/scared she'd make the exact same sound DD does when he's mad> and Isabella - cause I knew they were females. Though my next male will be named baby huey or ponyboy

I still am confused how sodapop ended up being female when the guy sexed her in front of me! Granted that means my theory is all out the window but he sexed her?! Oh well, i love her anyhow, and am still going to get another male eventually to even out my flock of 5 females.

I wish I had known you were looking for a drake. I would not have given our Pekin drake to the people who wound up with him. Had to give up a Pekin hen to get these people to take him. At least I know George has a good home with Magnolia Ducks

It was a rash and sudden decision to get sodapop... I was devastated when fancy died. He took so much work for me to get him to trust me, and then he became my cuddlebug. I thought getting a new male duckling to raise would help ease the grief and pain. I also felt I needed a male to protect my speedy and the twins. I have sugarbaby now because none of fancys eggs hatched either.

I think they see me as a protector aka drake now, though sugar still sees me as mama and speedy gets all jelly and chases her.

I hope those ppl are taking care of your pekin... I wasn't as active much after fancy died - except to @Miss Lydia and @casportpony. They tried to help me save him...

George is doing great. He and Mini had a good day out in the fence yesterday. I don't see any signs of over mating so no drake jail.

I have fixed it to the waterer with little duct-tape strips and raised the waterer as recommended by @MissChick@dee. I think its working now!

Yesterday i made a waterer for little Forest out of an orange-juice bottle, as i saw in all the countless instructions/videos/pictures i set the bottle down upright, cut two holes in it so that Forest is able to stick her head in and set it up in the brooder. It was empty after 15 minutes…
Today my wife saw it and said »why don't you turn it sideways?« - She is soo right!
