2019 Spring Ducklings are here!

We got snow lastnite. Good fun if nothing else
You have snow! I mean it snows at your place and the snow stays for some time. (?)
Here it snows for some days, then warms up and all the snow melts, eventually it rains on top of it and the whole ground turns into MUDD! My duckies love mudd, i don't!

No duckling update tonight, i used the frozen ground to walk up my hill to the barn and retrieve three pressed-wood/epoxy boards that i will use to finish the second bedroom in the duck house, starting tomorrow…
But i have two videos for you! Recently i bought a TrailCam to catch our package-thief and to test it, i set it up at the duckling's garage brooder where it took plenty of pictures. I found a nice program to compile those pictures into videos.

The secret life of ducklings, part 1: Waiting for the worms.

The secret life of ducklings, part 2: The night is not for sleeping!

Have fun watching! - First video, look at ~50 seconds the duckling on top of the heat-cave is falling asleep… :lau

My new babies I got today. I couldn't resist these cute babies.

Well Mini and George just survived a raptor attack. I heard Mini screaming bloody murder, for once she was telling the truth. I went up to their pen and there were about 20 crows circling low over the pen and putting up a racket. Mini feathers everywhere and George feathers stuck in the electric netting. They were both cowering in their kiddie pool. Checked them over and Mini has a puncture wounds in her thigh and a skinned place on her bill. George seems to be untouched even though he lost some feathers. I cooped them for the rest of the day. Guess I now need to feed the crows and stop saying bad things about them.

Poor Mini. I hope its not too bad. Both her and George have had their flock attacked twice.
