They can’t eat Mazuri when ducklings ? How are the patients doing and Natasha?
I would have to special order the crumbles. All I can get locally is maintenance pellets which are not the right nutrition for growing ducklings. I should check into whether my local feed store can order the raiser flavor from Mazuri. I am happy how the f lock raiser performs for the ducklings, but the smell ..... George is back to normal, Mini is quiet. She is usually very talkative with me but not right now. No limping or signs of injuries other than the puncture wounds and the scales bill. She is eating and drinking normally. Just got a good scare.
Natasha is doing great. They are so big and getting their flight feathers. It looks like Boris, at least I think it's Boris, is getting a dewlap. That never happened with my other geese.

Well Mini and George just survived a raptor attack. I heard Mini screaming bloody murder, for once she was telling the truth. I went up to their pen and there were about 20 crows circling low over the pen and putting up a racket. Mini feathers everywhere and George feathers stuck in the electric netting. They were both cowering in their kiddie pool. Checked them over and Mini has a puncture wounds in her thigh and a skinned place on her bill. George seems to be untouched even though he lost some feathers. I cooped them for the rest of the day. Guess I now need to feed the crows and stop saying bad things about them.
Close call! I hope Mini will be OK. :fl Hope yo are OK too! :hugs
I actually do feed the crows here! They help a lot harassing the hawks away.
But they can be a hazard for ducklings!
My grown up ducks befriended the local crows during the winter: "Kraah krah!« - »Quack Quack!« - »Krah?« - »Quack-Waa-Wack!« They were both eating from the pile of wet cracked corn i had tossed out and peacefully talking to each other.

I saw the hawk swoop in for Donald, our female and I had a big giant stick and I whacked the hawk with it in the head. The hawk dropped to the ground, and I whacked it about 5 hard times to know it was dead. Then I dropped it in the fire barrel. No injuries on Don Don :bow:celebrate:wee:woot:yesss:
I noticed a fox this morning sneaking around in the forest uphill. Clapped my hands and she/he just looked at me, took a stick and held it like a rifle and she/he took off. Tonight there is a neon-transformer hooked up to the outer fences 10,000V 30mA that wacks any hillbilly out of his pants!
