Hey pyxis, this is probably an odd question. What do you do with the shells you don't send for testing?

Usually just toss them. I should see if anyone wants them for jewelry making though. I've had a few people ask me about it.

I definitely would. I've been looking for some that are affordable, but all I can find are blown eggs, and I can't bring myself to destroy one for the shell

So out of 7 emu eggs that I ordered, 5 of them hatched! I posted 3 of them on a chicken swap group for my area tonight and they are pending pickup tomorrow. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s early in the season, but I’m super excited that it seems like it’ll be pretty easy to sell emu chicks when my own emus start laying!

Egg 6 is due tomorrow, or possibly the 5th because of the power outage. I could hear it moving around in there and the egg has leveled back out, so it'll be soon!

It already has a home. Someone local to me hatched a single chick a day ago and needs a companion for it.
