We love ❤️ our flocks so along with good nutrition, we provide treats. Variety is fun, dried or live mealworms, cabbage, melons, squash, even warm oatmeal. I came across these a few years ago & tried them. I like how they smell like oregano & I really like how my chickens & guineas come running for it. Just a little hand full & 1 min later my entire flock is literally eating out of my hand...comes in handy when calling in the few ornery ones that tend to play "Yeah right, you want me, come & get me" from underneath the middle of a 24 foot bldg, or guineas that prefer my neighbor's wooded lot. The mere sight of, or crackling bag sound of these bags is my flocks' que to "run to human mama now" 🤣 & seeing those little legs run always makes me happy. I buy the 3 pack, they can last longer than you'd think, it only takes 1 palm full to bring the flock in, after they're in offer some mixed with scratch to the slow pokes, so no one feels left out.

I would worry that any strong odors in the nesting material would be absorbed by the eggs. :(

I grow lavender, marigolds and mint, often toss some dried into the nestboxes already lined with woodchips, eggs are not affected. I've seen my hens take the lavender and marigold sprigs & place them on their own backs, then preen themselves. The ladies really Do want to smell nice! 😃

I need these cut-resistant gloves for processing chickens! Pricey for 1 pair, but they are the highest grade of cut resistance available, and appear to be very flexible and snug fitting. They can withstand up to 11 pounds of force. It seems every single time we process, someone gets a small cut. It's inevitable that sometime, someone will need stitches. Like I said, I NEED these:
